A season of gratitude: a message from our CEO
Thanksgiving and gratitude are the two words that mark this season for me. I am thankful for family, friends, and the many blessings in my life. I also carry a deep sense of gratitude for the incredible people who make the work of the National CASA/GAL Association possible.
Every day, I am inspired by the staff, volunteers, and supporters who share and invest in our mission—to ensure that every child who has experienced abuse or neglect has a caring, consistent adult advocating for their best interests. Your dedication strengthens families, transforms futures, and creates brighter paths for children who need it most.
As we enter this season of reflection, thankfulness and giving, I hope you take a moment to recognize the difference you make, whether by giving your time, lending your voice, making a financial contribution, or offering your support. Together, we are changing stories and building stronger communities.
This is a pivotal moment for children in care. They need our network of dedicated advocates and supporters more than ever—to provide stability, hope, safety, and the opportunity to grow up surrounded by people who truly know and care for them. Thanks to our nearly 79,000 volunteers, we are meeting these challenges head-on—but we know the need continues to grow.
As we look ahead, we invite more caring adults to join us in this life-changing work as volunteers or by making a financial investment that will help us recruit more volunteers. This year, we are launching our end of the year campaign, Five Critical Reasons Children in Foster Care Can’t Wait. You can learn more about the campaign and how you can give this season.
From all of us at National CASA/GAL, thank you for all you do. Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful Thanksgiving season filled with warmth, peace, and gratitude.

With gratitude,
Tara Lisa Perry
